My picks for witch movies to watch this month whether you're into horror movies or want lighter fare. I saw this movie when I was 12 & it still holds up today. Forget the forthcoming reboot & stick to this stylish, fun thriller with a killer soundtrack. Dark film set in the 1600's about a family who grows ever fearful their daughter might be a witch. This takes me back to my childhood. This is a great family-friendly option with great music. A ballet student discovers the ballet school is actually a sinister coven of witches. Directed by Dario Argento, this visually stunning film is a must-watch for cinefiles. This equally visually stunning remake is available to stream on Amazon Prime. This PG-13 late 90's fare about modern day sister witches grappling with the ramifications of a centuries old family curse has a killer soundtrack & great last-minute DIY Halloween costume ideas. This witchy rom-com holds a special place in my heart as Jimmy Stewart is my favorite classic film actor. This macabre but still family-oriented sequel to the classic makes it even more perfect for a watch on Halloween. I gotta give a shout-out to this stylish 70's throw-back indie film. The fashion alone makes me want to watch this.

IF you're nominated, you should dress to reflect the film/show your nominated for while still being flattering and true to your style. Hidden Figures-Winners Taraji P. Henson I love this dress aside from the weird out of place bows & the fact that though she looks smoking, this is a little too much skin for a work gala. Janelle Monáe Although I love the vintagey look to this & that it's totally her, the ruffle neck & "bracelets" look cheap & costumey to me. Kirsten Dunst I love this! Super flattering, a bit vintage mixed with those cool modern sleeves. Kimberly Quinn-At left Hair & makeup are flawless, but I don't care for the neckline on her. Captain Fantastic-Nominee Samantha Isler Whe you're young, a ruffled los high neck dress doesn't look juvenile or old lady. It looks quirky and adorable, perfect for the movie she's nominated for. Annalise Basso I love this dress and the drama of it. It seems a bit OTT for one so young & for the SAGs, but it somehow works here and it playful. Only complaint is that it matches the red carpet too well. Shree Crooks- the little girl in the middle She looks adorable. When your this young the rules are tossed out the window in favor of being age appropriate which this is. Trin Miller- the redhead in white I love this quirky circus print dress. It's bit low cut but does't look bad from this angle. Kathryn Hahn I love her hair and makeup and think this is figure-flattering, but the 2 different materials makes it look cheap IMO. Erin Moriarty She's young so she can get away with such a simple dress for such a quirky movie. I love this shade of silver as well. Missi Pyle I don;t tink I've ever seen her look for beatufil on the red carpet. That burnout lace bottom of the dress gives it just enough spark to match the comedians funny personality. Manchester by the Sea-Nominee Gretchen Mol Hoever much I like the 1920's, this just feels too vintagey for the movie she's nominated for. Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading RoleEmma Stone-WINNER, LaLa Land I love the of this, but the dress looks ripped, like she caught it on something and it tore so we see her bustier. It just looks messy. Love everything else though. Amy Adams-Nominee, Arrival SHe looks like a tall drink of water. I love this. It's simple, but the fit & that necklace elevate this. This seems like something her character would've worn in Nocturnal Animals. Emily Blunt-Nominee, The Girl on the Train I like the dress itself, but I don't think it's flattering on her in color, neckline, or waist, and I prefer her with red hair. It's just all the same color head to toe for me. Natalie Portman-Nominee, Jackie She's pregnant so most of my "rules" go out the window. She looks pretty and those earrings are fantastic. However, this large sleeved dress looked a but like a pope costume and wore her. I liked her dress at the Golden Globes much better. Meryl Streep-Nominee, Florence Foster Jenkins I love the bird print, but the white does nothing for her skin and just brings out her greys more and it;s not fitted enough in the waist. Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting RoleWINNER: Viola Davis, Fences I love the contrast of the white with you lovely skin, but the girls seem to be fighting for attention. It's just a bit of a tight fit up top. Nominee: Naomie Harris, Moonlight I love me a jumpsuit, but this looks like pajamas. Nominee: Nicole Kidman, Lion Pirate jokes aside, I kinda love this especially is comparison with the last few Red Carpet looks of Nicole's. She can carry this look off, the green is great with her red hair, and the fit is super flattering. It's low cut but not offensively so. Nominee: Octavia Spencer, Hidden Figures She looks amazing! This is so figure flattering but still has some personality & interest. Nominee: Michelle Williams, Manchester by the Sea IDK about this. I usually love everything Michelle Williams wears but the primary colors with the sequins make it look like a circus costume. Maybe if it was just one color and not fruit striped I'd like it. Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series*** WINNER: Stranger Things Natalia Dyer This look is figure flattering byt I've never liked red & pink together. Cara Buono Ok I admit I love this, red & pink together even. It's very Mad Men but not very Stranger Things. Shannon Purser Total transformation from her look on the show. I love this look h2t. The Crown Nominee Vanessa Kirby Cute but I'm not sure about the shade of white on her. IT just doesn't do anything for her complexion. Downton Abbey Nominee Laura Carmichael I'm really picky about floral print. This is a little grandma, & the neckline is not flattering. Michelle Dockery Elizabeth McGovern Pretty dress, but nothing special. Game of Thrones Rose Leslie She is so pretty, and I love lavender on her, but this is just weird. It doesn't go together and manages not to fit her well either. Sophie Turner She's a stunner. This is a moment for her, expecially afterwhat she wore to the Golden Globes. She's all grown up and fierce. Maisie Williams She looks like such a cool girl. I normally don't like super dark lips, but it works for her and makes the pretty pink a bit less saccharin. Gwendoline Christie Hammer time... Hair and make is on point but this super baggy and sequins? jumpsuit does nothing for her. Nathalie Emmanuel This is a really cool dress: unusual and flattering. I don't care for the asymmetrical hair though. Westworld Evan Rachel Wood I love all the looks she's been sporting this award season. This is no exception. Sidse Babett Knudsen This dress seems a bit too young this sofisitaced woman. Angela Sarafyan Very pretty print, great color, and figure flattering. Shannon Woodward This isn't a bad dress just a boring one. She is so much prettier than this. It just doesn't show off her figure as all. Talulah Riley This dress is gorgeous. Normally a print like this can look a little too vintage, but the cut makes it more modern. Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy SeriesOrange in the New Black- Winner Taylor Schilling I ike the color and the waist up. It's just too many ruffles for her slender figure. Danielle Brooks I love this on her. She looks fierce. Dascha Polanco Keeping it up in the fierceness department. Selenis Leyva Idk how she managed to walk up those stairs to accept her award and not fall down or rip the train. Yael Stone This is so pretty on her and seems like something her character would wear. Lea DeLaria It's not my style but it's certainly her and fits well and has personality. Adrienne C. Moore I like the dress but not on her. It isn't figure flattering, and I hate that I can see her tan lines. Jackie Cruz What a stunner! I can't find anything I don't like about this. Jessica Pimentel She's having a J.Lo moment here. I love her confidence, her pose, and her hair/makeup. I don't care for how high that slit is. This whole thing is a little too much skin for a work gala imo. She's stunning still I would've just wanted this worn at the Grammys or something. Elizabeth Rodriguez I love the dress but that cape is way too oversized for her petite frame. Abigail Savage I love this, but I wish the shoes were black. Samira Wiley This dress is cute, but seems a bit young on her. Taryn Manning I love the dress, but the cintrast of the pink hair & dark makeup looks a bit garish. Kimiko Glenn I'm on the fence with this. It's a pretty dress, but it looks a bit heavy on her. Maybe it's the spaghetti straps not giving her enough support. Lin Tucci Normally I hate boleros, but on her it works. I would prefer a lighter rather than a smoky eye, however. Diane Guerrero I would love this without the tulle. It just seems like an afterthought. Dale Soules I like the top half, but that sheer overlay skirt? pants? just looks messy. Blair Brown This looks like a barber smock. She's so cute , and I love her red hair. I want to see her in color. Emily Althaus This seems great for the Saturn awards. She has an incredible figure, but this is too much skin for this awards show. Lori Petty This is strange. It's not quite quirky. It's almost matronly. I just don't get this. THe blouse could be cool if paired with something else. Beth Dover This is really pretty. I love the mix of metallic with floral print. Jolene Purdy This is so pretty and so flattering on her. The Big Bang Theory-Nominee Kaley Cuoco I love this dress. It's like if a unicorn became a person and bought a gown. It's like walking cotton candy which works for her character on Big Bang Theory. Melissa Rauch The dress is pretty as is she, but the color does nothing for her skin-tone. It's just all the same tone h2t. Mayim Bialik Black-ish-Nominee Tracee Ellis Ross Pretty dress but the slit sleeves seem a little dated. I love the pop od color in the earrings tho. Yara Shahidi Such an improvement from the Globes! She wears the hell out of this tribal inspired dress. Love! Jenifer Lewis This is a woman who can work some leopard print. I don't personally care for it, but it works for her. Modern Family-Nominee Sofía Vergara I like the dress itself, but I don't care for the silhouette on her. Julie Bowen I would love this with a bit more lining on the bottom half. Sarah Hyland Pretty but not youthful enough for her. Ariel Winter Neck up I love, and I love the silhouette on her, but the dress itself I find cheap looking. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons Photo: Frazer Harrison This is adorable! Veep-Nominee Anna Chlumsky Probably the best I've ever seen her look on the Red Carpet. Clea DuVall I like a good suit on the red carpet. This fits her like a glove, but is missing something. Not special enough. Sarah Sutherland Photo: Alberto E. Rodriguez Pretty, but a little dark. All that black with lace looks a bit goth. Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama SeriesWINNER: Claire Foy, The Crown I love this! The floral really fits this English rose.
